Sangat Jee,

Over the past few months at the Gurdwara there have been a couple of projects which have been run by the Sisters (Bhen Jees) in the Sangat.

They have been setup by them and run by them, we find that if the women in the sangat start taking a role in doing something in the Gurdwara then it will be much more productive if it was run by the Gurdwara itself or its comittees. We are lucky that the Gurdwara actively supports and encourages new ideas.

So below is a list of whats new or recently setup, everyone is welcome to come and join in or even help out.

MONDAYS - Ladies Fitness Class -6pm-7pm, there is a Ladies only (13+Years old) fitness class. The Intructor is professionaly qulaified. See poster below for more details.

TUESDAYS - COOKING CLASSES - 6pm-9pm - This class has become very popular just by word of mouth. It has nearly come to the end of its 12 week trial and those who participate have come back with very positive remarks about the class. We hope to start another class in the new year, so if you are new to cooking or want to learn how to make Indian/Punjabi food in a nice atmosphere then come down on Tuesday and ask for another set of classes in the New Year. The cost is £2 per class and this is for Ingredients and equipment.

FRIDAYS - KHALSA CLUB - 6pm-7pm - This is a class for young kids, who want to learn Sikhi in a fun way. The Class is led by a experienced teacher who has run classes like this for a few years now. The class is very popular and has around 30+ kids already.

All the above is run by Sevadaars who have taken time out to contribute to making the Gurdwara more Sangat oriented. If you think you can do seva in any of these classes or just want to join in and contribute or just participate then please feel welcome to come.

Please remember if we want Gurdwara’s to change then we must also be prepared to do something and just not talk about change! As the saying goes ‘Actions speak louder than words’.
