WaheguruJeeKaaKhalsa WaheguruJeeKeeFateh

Dear Sangat Jee,

What can the Sevadaars of this website say about a Great Gursikh like Bhai Joginder Singh Talware Jee who went back to Guru Jee's Lotus Feet in 2004.

DVD Cover Talwara Jee.jpg

Bhai Sahib's contribution to the Panth is beyond our time. Many of us will only realise in years to come the contribution Bhai Sahib made to the Panth. As Panthic as he was his Stature and the respect he had in the Panth was huge. He was the one who was selected to correct the spelling in the printed Sri Guru Granth Sahibs by researching all the available Purataan Birs.

Bhai Sahib also wrote 11 books and for those who study Gurbani, and have a thirst for knowledge they are indispensable. We will also have a go at translating some parts in English so the sangat can also benefit in Bhai Sahib's wisdom and knowledge. Bhai Sahib was also a member of the advisory committee formed by the SGPC to advise Sikh clergy on Panthic affairs. He was noted Sikh Intellectual not only in Sikh circles but also to the press and government in Punjab.

Most of us will remember his graceful Keertan, and sehaj filled avasta. Just imagine how many Gursikhs Bhai Sahib had taught Keertan to inspired va his Keertan. Away from Panthic duty he had very high Gursikh Asools. He was always a example to the Youth, he was a Gursikh who had the balance of Miri and Piri. The above picture is of a AKJ Keeratan Smagham held inside the Sri Harimander Sahib complex just days before Operation Bluestar in 1984.

Sevadaars were given the MP3's of Bhai Sahib's Shabad Veechar and are sorry for not putting them online earlier. We are in the process of checking the MP3s and would ask for Sanagt Jee to reply to this post if they find any problems with the MP3's. All the MP3's are in Punjabi and are put in the correct folders regarding the Ang Number In Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee.

Some MP3's do have the relevant Shabad in the title some do not. Please help us in making sure they are correct by commentating on this post or even sending a mail to info@sevatothemax.com. We also thank the Sevadaars who have helped us obtain the Veechars and uploading them to the website.  The MP3's can be found at :

MP3 -> Gurbani and Veechar -> Gurbani Santhiya -> Bhai Sahib Bhai Joginder Singh Talwara Jee's Shabad Santhiya

We hope by doing this seva, many will learn and begin to Love Gurbani as much as Bhai Sahib Bhai Joginder Singh Talwara Jee evidently did.

Heaven and Hell

Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji sung :

a(n)mrithaa pria bachan thuhaarae
O Beloved, Your Words are Ambrosial Nectar.

Ath su(n)dhar manamohan piaarae sabhehoo madhh niraarae ||1|| rehaao ||
O supremely beautiful Enticer, O Beloved, You are among all, and yet distinct from all. ||1||Pause||

Raaj n chaaho mukath n chaaho Man preeth charan kamalaarae ||
I do not seek power, and I do not seek liberation. My mind is in love with Your Lotus Feet

People think Muktee is the thing to get, i.e salvation or liberation or freedom from the bonds of the world. People want heaven where they meet all there relatives and have the house and garden they always dreamed about. But Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji is light years ahead of that stage and sings:

Man preet charan kamalareh
My mind (only wants) the Love of your Lotus
Feet.

But isn't having the love of Guru Ji's lotus feet the same as heaven or mukti?

No, a Giani Jee gave the following example :

it's like a little boy who's lost in a shopping mall. At first he loved spending hours in the toy shop, then he really wanted to go to the sweet shop and eat all the chocolates. In the end he started crying because he wanted his mummy. He ran past the sweet shop, he ran past the toy shop, the only important thing was finding his mummy and she'd pick him up and hug him to the chest.

Sikhi is not about going to heaven or hell (the shops), but about going back to sit in Gurdev-Pita Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's fatherly laps, it's about being absorbed in the lovelight of Guru Jis Lotus feet. And being absorbed in the love of God's Lotus Feet is to do Naam Simran with Humility and Love.

Birhaa -  Pain of Separation

When a seeker experiences intense viraag (yearning for Waheguru), then in his sub-conscious mind, the pain of separation from the Primal Being Waheguru, creates in him an even greater desire and love to meet Him. In this stage many a time tears too begin to flow from the eyes.

Ho rehi n sakaa bin dhaekhae preethamaa mai neer vehae vehi chalai jeeo ||3||
I cannot survive without seeing my Beloved. My eyes are welling up with tears. ||3||

These tears cleanse him of his dirt accumulated over numerous births. This stage is called birho(n), the pang of separation. It is generally accepted that separation is very painful because in it there is very great love-filled pang to meet up with ones beloved.

"O birho(n)!, the pang of separation, you are the emperor. It is because of you that I can meet my Beloved." A body in which birho (or love and pang for Waheguru) does not arise, regard that body as a funeral pyre because its heart is burnt out with sins and evil deeds. Inside it there is not even a suggestion of pull or love for union with the Primal Being Waheguru.

Birehaa birehaa aakheeai birehaa thoo sulathaan ||
Many talk of the pain and suffering of separation; O pain, you are the ruler of all.

Fareedhaa jith than birahu n oopajai so than jaan masaan ||36||
Fareed, that body, within which love of the Lord does not well up - look upon that body as a cremation ground. ||36||

Vivayk - Discernment

When birho, the pang of separation arises with intensity in the seeker's consciousness and he experiences an extreme pull in his heart to link up with the Primal Being Waheguru, then vivayk (discernment) springs forth. In this state his consciousness moves ahead with a pull of great intensity to merge with Shabad-Guru because of the simran or contemplation of Naam and Bani. He attains the knowledge of righteous and unrighteous deeds.

Achar charai bibaek budhh paaeae purakhai purakh milaae ||4||
He eats the uneatable, and is blessed with a discriminating intellect; he meets the Supreme Person, the Primal Lord God. ||4||

Budh - Wisdom

When man, while treading the path of Gurmat, begins to climb the stairs of Atam Darshee, the witnessing of the soul, he rises above ridheeaan-sidheeaan (miraculous powers). In this way he arrives at the state of wisdom where, with the Primal Being Waheguru's vibration of love, he is freed from the doubt fallacy of materialism and with renewed vigour he keeps walking towards the homeland of the Formless One.

jo har budhh ridhh sidhh chaahath guroo guroo gur kar man maerae ||5||9||
If you long for wisdom, wealth, spiritual perfection and properity, O my mind, dwell upon the Guru, the Guru, the Guru. ||5||9||

Dhuramath maett budhh paragaasee jan naanak guramukh thaaree ||4||1||2||
The Lord has eliminated my evil-mindedness, and enlightened my intellect; O servant Nanak, the Gurmukhs are saved. ||4||1||2||

Sahij Awastaa - State of Equipoise

When a seeker overcomes his ego by doing Naam Simran, the contemplation or meditation of the Naam, he reaches a state of equipoise or spontaneity of the homeland of the Formless Waheguru.
