Videos in Loving Memory of Giani Amolak Singh Jee and Jathedhar Bhai Sahib Bhai Ram Singh Jee

WaheguruJeeKaaKhalsa, WaheguruJeeKeeFateh!!

We have two Videos clips of Giani Amolak Singh Jee and Jathedhar Bhai Ram Singh Jee.

These Two Great Gursikhs had passed away in recent times, however through their seva of the Panth they still hold cherished memories to the Sevadaars of this site. Through their acquittance with Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh Jee they learnt to live a life dedicated to seva and upliftment of the Panth as a whole through the Sangat of like minded Gursikhs. They are great role models for the youth.

 Picture(14).jpg

Gianni Amolak Singh Jee had a unique relationship with Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Cross Road, Coventry, and he knew some of the Sevadaars and Members of the Gurdwara for over 30 years. Gianni Jee had attended the Gurdwara many times and was involved in many important events at the Gurdwara. We knew that their were some videos recordings of the Keertan and Katha he did and recently decided that this rare recording of Gianni Jee should be put up for the rest of the Sangat.

 Ram Singh.jpg

Jathedhar Bhai Ram Singh Jee was another amazing Gursikh who lead the Akhand Keertani Jatha in India through some of the most trying time in the 80's-90's. Bhai Ram Singh ji was a Gursikh of a very high spiritual jeevan, which anyone who did sangat of him soon realised. He was given the seva of Jathedar in 1978, and led it through very difficult times of Vaiskahi 1978, Operation Blue Star in 1984, Delhi riots and the decade of genocide after. He always helped any soul, that came to him for help. Many times this was his own personal risk, in his very old age. He helped Shaheed Parivaars, often confronting police and politicians himself to free the wives and children of Shaheed Singhs. He partook in many Amrit Sanchars and thousands were blessed with Amrit.

Many youth in the UK do not know that he was also a very good Keertani. His Keertan was in the same style as another Great Gursikh Bhai Sahib Joginder Singh Talwara Jee (We hope to put a video of Bhai Sahib aswell). So we are proud to also put up a small clip of Jathedhar Jee doing Keertan in a Smagham in the 90's (We think!!).

We thank all the sevadaars involved in getting these Videos up on the site. The Videos can be found here :

Filter Test

Another Gem of Knowledge!!

In ancient Greece, Socrates was reputed to hold knowledge in high esteem.

One day an acquaintance met the great philosopher and said, "Do you know what I just heard about your friend?"

"Hold on a minute," Socrates replied. "Before telling me anything I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test." "Triple filter?" "That's right," Socrates continued.

"Before you talk to me about my  friend, it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you're going to say. That's why I call it the triple filter test.

The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?"

"No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it and…" "All right," said Socrates. "So you don't really know if it's true or not."

Now let's try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?"

"No, on the contrary…" "So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him, but you're not certain it's true. You may still pass the test though, because there's one filter left:- the filter of Usefulness."

"Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?"

"No, not really."

"Well," concluded Socrates, "if what you want to tell me is neither True nor Good nor even Useful, why tell it to me at all?"

This is why Socrates was a great philosopher & held in such high esteem.

Take some time when reading the above and think about the filter test and try and apply it to your life.

Love - Preet

Sunday, June 11th, 2006
Aisee preeth karahu man maerae ||

Enshrine such love, O my mind,

Aat(h) pehar prabh jaanahu naerae ||1|| rehaao ||

That twenty-four hours a day, God will seem near to you.

Love is an experience which manifests in many ways.
When you forgive, forgive and forgive - that is 'LOVE'.
When you look into another person and understand the pain of the other person - that is 'LOVE'.
When gratitude and selflessness permeates your being, your ego dies and your inner self is dissolved - that is 'LOVE'.

Every object radiates certain waves which creates 'Worldly Love'. When this is transferred, a person becomes a new creative force drenched in 'Spiritual Love' just like the dew drops evaporating to become the nature's life force.

'Divine Love' is mysterious experience which comes only with his grace 'Gurparsad'. One has to meditate and surrender oneself completely to the will of God. Such is the love Guru Jee is referring to.

VaheGuru Je Ka Khalsa VaheGuru Je Ke Fateh

"With thy lips chant Akaal's immortal name,

With thy mind contemplate the battlefield"

Guru Gobind Singh

my mind screams the call of battle… i have listened
to your call, to all who dare think that they are
worthy… i take that challenge & say that i am
equal… not one drop less than you… i have never
been defeated, i shall never be defeated, for what i
call into this arena is not the conventional safe
forms, but of the fluid lethal art of self
sacrifice… Never to the conformed self… you have
so far only confronted others with yard
gatka(showmanship)… a true warrior sees the fake
from the real, you have so far defeated poor fools(if
they only knew that it was only fog)

i have within my mind vast waves of war, of carnage
everywhere… this is creation from the weapons that i
enter the arena… it is that of the battle… with
all its bravery, its cowardice's, its excitement, its
dread, its strong contrasting forms.. aahhhh the
beauty of it all… this is love too me… After all
true love is the call of battle… it feeds active
rebellion;

Duelling with me, we must go well armed, often with
spare diet, poverty, angry enemies, desertions.
Entering this holy place with me needs the best blood,
endurance; None may come to this trial, till you bring
courage and health.

Come not here if you have already spent the best of
yourself; Only you may come, who come in sweet and
determined bodies; No diseased person-no rum-drinker
or venereal taint is permitted here. Guru's own do not
convince by arguments, similes, rhymes; We will
convince by our presence(else run like cowards)

Listen! let we warn you; I could not offer the old
smooth prizes, but offer rough new prizes;

In this duel no armour would be allowed: we will not
be able to protect ourselves with what is called
riches, we shall scatter with lavish hand all that we
earn or achieve during this battle(& ever after), we
will but arrive at the city to which you were
destined-hardly settle ourselves to satisfaction,
before we are called by an irresistible call to
depart(we will live on the saddle), We will be treated
to the crocodile smiles and mocking of those who do
not know the battle that we are waging; What
beckoning of love we receive, we shall only answer
with passionate kisses of parting, We shall not allow
the hold of those who spread their reached hands
toward us…

the duel must remain INTENSE, for if any of these
conditions of war were breached, it would be a sign of
defeat… to die in this battle is too die in
Nirvana… who ever of us would die first, would be
truly blessed… who ever of us would turn away from
this field of battle is truly cursed

Akaal-la! the duel is before us! It is safe-I have
tried it-my own heart has tried it well. be not
detained! no ones losses on this battle field(only
hero's, poets, the finest artist are born here)

Let the paper remain on the desk unwritten, and the
book on the shelf unopened!
Let the tools remain in the workshop! let the money
remain unearned!
Let the school stand! mind not the cry of the teacher!
Let the preacher preach in his pulpit! let the lawyer
plead in the court, and the judge expound the law.

My comrade! I give you my hand!
I duel with my love, more precious than money,
I stake myself, before preaching or law;

Will you give me yourself?

Will you come travel with me?

Shall we stick by each other as long as we live?
