www.SikhiToTheMax.com UPDATED!!!!

WaheguruJeeKaaKhalsa WaheguruJeeKeeFateh!!

Sangat Jee,

The SikhiToTheMAX website has been updated over the last couple of of days. The translation has been updated with a newer more accurate translation. The seva for the translation was done by Singhs in Malaysia. Currently over 16,000 Pangthees have been updated. Although a lot of these are Mool Mantar and MangalChaaran revisions, around one fifth of the total Pangthees in Guru Granth Sahib have had their translation updated.

To view the differences, you can search for a Shabad and then view it (or use the Random Shabad feature). If a link appears at the bottom of the page saying "This translation is an updated version." just click on the info icon. The NEW Translation will be in BLUE as normal. The OLD Translation in RED and in (Brackets) so that it can be compared. The translation update is an ongoing process and more work will be done shortly to allow for further research shortly.

We are intending to release an updated desktop version of SikhiToTheMax software, which will have a richer feature set and interface, along with the newer translation. Please be patient, we were intending to get this released by Satjug, but we realised that was a bit lazy. Wink

We will keep you posted on it's progress, but the general foundation and basic functionality is available and will be released shortly for testing.

Will the updated version of sikhitothemax allow the users to view the whole of SGGSJ with the transalation?
Because you can only view one shabad at a time with the current one. However you guys have done an excellent job with sikhitothemax anyway. Ive got to say i get into the keertan much more with sikhitothemax. May guru maharaj bless you guys even more to do such seva.

    GurFateh Ji

You have been doing great sewa. I have seen sikhitothemax software running in many gurudwaras in UK. Its great that youth who do not understand punjabi can view the english translation of shabads.

One request I would like to make is that it will be very helpful if you could release the source code for desktop and online version. Software code can be released under GPL/LGPL, BSD or other open source licence. This will bring more developers (volunteers) to work on project. Currently its available on windows, if relesed under open source licence, I hope volunteers will port it to Linux and other OS.

The web service is not working. Will it be updated/functional in future. Will it be possible to have a web service that provides daily hukamnama from Darbar Sahib amritsar.

I congratulate you again for sewa you are doing.

    Best wishes
    Gursharn Singh

    Gursharn Singh Jee,

If you are interested in the development of STTM then I am sure they would gladly like your advice and support. We await your response and we will email you back as soon as we get it, just give us some of your background in IT and we can discuss, email info@sevatothemax.com

About Open Source software, the last time we discussed this it was definatley a Idea the team were looking at. However I think some updates on the site and for the desktop version are going live soon. And we then will be moving onto other projects, so you never know it might go open source or other sevadaars might take over.

We will have more details in the near future and Thank You and the rest of the Sangat in your support for all the projects we are involved in.

    Sevadaar
